The redevelopment project of Carlo Riva Port
We are delighted to announce the reopening of the renewed “Carlo Riva” port in Rapallo, an event that marks a significant milestone for the nautical industry of the Tigullio Gulf.
About Carlo Riva Port
The Carlo Riva port was established in 1975 as a private tourist harbor but was destroyed in the 2018 storm surge. Finally, after more than 5 years, “Carlo Riva” Port is reopening its doors with a brand-new look thanks to a comprehensive redevelopment of the entire area. Their aim is to establish an innovative, sustainable port that is poised to meet future challenges in boating with emphasis on safety and service quality. The new marina boasts a surface of 113.535 m2 that can host up to 250 boats up to 60 meters.
The redevelopment project
The project has been completed by the Bizzi & Partners group with assistance from the Tectoo studio in relation to the architectural components. The reconstruction efforts encompassed not only the ports infrastructure but also the enhancement of the structural protection of the coastal community of Rapallo.
The project included a rebuild of the docks, a complete renovation of onshore facilities, the construction of two restaurants, bars, and commercial spaces catering to nautical supplies and services. The vision was to create a modern “service-oriented” port in the Mediterranean which was in harmony with the city all the while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability.
Thanks to this comprehensive revitalization project, the Carlo Riva Port in Rapallo is poised to become one of the most attractive destinations in the Mediterranean and the leading marina for superyachts on the Ligurian Riviera. It represents a technologically advanced port aligned with the evolving demands of recreational boating.
